Grisham is always top notch and like so many listeners, once I start, I can never put down his stories. And Malcolm Bannister would love to tell them. I either loved the book, but hated the movie, like in The Runaway Jury, or found the book kind of "meh," like The Rainmaker, but then fell in love with the movie.
While this wasn't one of his better books, it still kept my attention all the way through and was entertaining. Six weeks later, a fortune was stolen from his ex-law firm's offshore account. I cannot stand a book that leaves you wanting an explanation.
Troy Phelan is a self-made billionaire, one of the richest men in the United States. This story audiobok lawyers, criminals, victims, bad guys, good guys and the usual cast found in Grisham novels.

Sep 17, Minutes Buy. It will probably be an OK movie if the right director takes it on -- and hires a decent screenwriter. Instead I have been reading good stuff but not great. I have always felt John Grisham is the best at this type book and he seems to prove it with each new book.

Boring Would you recommend this book to a friend? Grisham gives him plenty of depth and charisma, and you'll soon find yourself rooting for him.

Grisham ends the book by telling you what happens to the main chracters and that really works for me. A startling and original courtroom drama from New York Times best seller John Grisham that is the prequel to his newest legal thriller, The Whistler.
How did they meet? I did read it, and liked it.
Who is the Racketeer? There, the story gets even more ridiculous.
The guy who wrote The Firm and some of the other early works is no more. The story is hard to follow but still very predictable and the narrator sounds like he's getting payed by the minute. More from the Author.
